Se oli aktiivisimmillaan vuosina 1986–1997. Yhtyeen juuret olivat 1970–1980-lukujen punk-liikkeessä. Se sai suurimmat musiikilliset vaikutteensa The Damnedilta, Ramonesilta, Rubettesilta, Iggy and the Stoogesilta sekä Jason and The Scorchersilta. Yhtyeen musiikillinen genre oli indietyyppinen kitararock. Tamperelainen Hiljaiset Levyt -yhtiö julkaisi useita Jalla Jallan albumeita, joita lisensoitiin muun muassa Englantiin ja Yhdysvaltoihin. Yhtye teki useita kiertueita Euroopassa ja esiintyi 1990-luvulla useimmilla suomalaisilla rockfestivaaleilla.
